Rob
Waddington has been fishing all his
life and has been fly fishing for
over 40 years. He is a Game Angling Instructors
Association (GAIA) level 2 coach, Licensed also with
the Angling Development Board, qualified in both
Trout and Salmon fishing. A former 'awesome'
rock drummer with various bands including New Model
Army in the early 80's

Rob's dream was always to be a professional
fisherman who played the drums! Who says dreams
can't be achieved!
Rob has vast overseas experience
fishing for Atlantic salmon in the
Kola Peninsular, Russia on the
Kharlovka, E.Litza, Rynda, Varzuga,
Kitza, Strelna rivers. The
Miramichi, Eastern Canada, Vancouver
for Sturgeon and Cuba for bonefish.

He fishes,
coaches and guides at
Rutland Water most days now, but usually gets time for a
week in Russia fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon and a
couple of breaks in Scotland on the River Nith, also
for salmon. He has also fished extensively in
Yorkshire on the rivers Wharfe, Aire
and Nidd. IN Ireland on the Delphi,
Erriff, Screebe, Costello, Bunowen
and has fished the great limestone Loughs of
Corrib, Carra and Mask. He has caught Pacific
Salmon and huge sturgeon in Canada.
He speaks at functions giving
humorous illustrated talks of his
fishing adventures and is noted for
his friendly, enthusiastic
character and
excellent methods of teaching fly
