England
has some of the most famous fly fishing locations in the world, from
the classic chalk streams such as the rivers Test, Itchen, Kennet
and Wylye in Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire to the superb
limestone rivers Wharfe, Aire and Ure in the Yorkshire Dales.
These are all primarily brown trout rivers but all also hold
excellent stocks of grayling. The
fly fishing on these rivers is at its best in the April to November
season but the River Test in Hampshire provides excellent fly
fishing for grayling right through the winter months up to 14th
March.
Rutland Flyfishing Adventures can organise guided fly fishing days and corporate
fly fishing days in
these and many other areas of the UK.
Our guides are some of the most experienced fly fishing
guides in the country with decades of experience on their respective
waters. River fly
fishing requires a totally different approach to fishing the big
reservoirs. To have any chance of success you need the assistance of a
local guide to show you the appropriate fly fishing techniques,
which flies to use and exactly where and how to place those flies to
give you the best chance of catching fish.
Note:
The Autumn & Winter grayling fishing on the River Test is just
fantastic, easy wading and plenty of fish. Dry fly and nymphs work
well. It's just a pleasure to be fishing on these famous river
banks.
Our UK-wide locations also
include excellent stillwater fly fishing, from hill tarns with wild
brown trout to stocked lakes and reservoirs for brown and rainbow
trout.
Cost
Fully
guided days start from as little as £170, with the cost depending
mainly on the number of fishers.
The chalk stream rivers such as the Test are ideal venues for
very special small-scale corporate fly fishing days and we would be
pleased to quote you a cost for a day to meet your requirements.
