June is here and the Summer's
in full swing! We have Elderflowers outside ready
for our Elderflower champagne and Ospreys are seen
regularly from the lounge window, and the sunsets
just get better and better over the bay. The
flyfishing is superb with many big grown-on fish
being caught, see here if you fancy a go at this
active, exciting branch of the sport...

We've had some
excellent feedback over our own breakfast signature
dish...
'The Barnsdale Breakfast', home-caught and
home-cured Rutland Water trout smoked over cooled
oak smoke with a prior coating of a special syrup of
brown sugar, black pepper, a few chilli flakes, dill
and a generous glug of whiskey, with scrambled eggs.
You won't find a better way to start the day, at a
small supplement of £3.50 (it takes almost a week to
prepare and smoke, but it's well worth it!)

We saw 3
ospreys together last week & I managed to get a this
shot from the house. We also saw one swoop into the
bay and take away a great 3 pound trout, brilliant! |

March 27th and Spring is
coming quickly now.
British Summertime will
be here next week and
the Fly Fishing Season
begins on 1st April. The
Lodge, Lakeside B&B
really comes into it's
own at this time of
year. We've already seen
the first 2 ospreys from
the guest lounge
windows. Soon the
soap-like perfume of the
Laurel flowers will be
in the air and the magic
of Spring will be all
around us. |
The Laurel Room and the
Garden Room have been
newly refurbished again,
with bright and
sophisticated colours,
more still to come in
the next few days. I
look forward to seeing
you all in the coming
months. |

Our Cancellation Policy
If a cancellation is received in writing
between 48 and 72 hours prior to
the arrival date, a charge of 50% of the
first night's accommodation will be
made.
Reservations cancelled with less than 48
hours notice will incur the full
cost of the accommodation.
